We’re taking another diversion from the usual reviews here at MIB’s Instant Headache, this time by promoting a web series created for and based around the current lockdown situation, to give us all some respite from the boredom.

Sins Of Solitude is a seven-part black comedy series created and written by an old friend of the site Billie Vee – actress, writer, producer, model, pole dancer, cage fighter, special ops soldier, astronaut, and landscape gardener – and directed and edited by Abbie Lucas. Filmed entirely on the actors’ smartphones from their own homes, each five-minute episode released via YouTube in weekly instalments covers one of the Seven Deadly Sins as manifest in human form, exploring the folly of these traits during this time of isolation.

The synopsis is as follows:

In a very familiar, yet dystopian future where living in isolation is considered normal, a woman named Boo (Vee) tries to connect with others through video chat. However, each of these people represents one of the Seven Deadly Sins. As their negativity and bad habits  gradually infect her, Boo is left feeling lonelier than ever.

Sins of Solitude was shot entirely on our phones during the COVID-19 lockdown and is dedicated to all the people who felt hungry, jealous, bored, proud, greedy, angry and… lonely while staying in.

Playing opposite Vee as the Sins are Hayley-Marie Axe, Cherise Silvestri, Emmanuela Lia, Vincent Jerome, Shamir Dawood, Pano Masti, and Christian Vit.

Cleverly written, Vee offers a unique take on the Seven Deadly Sins through a modern lens, updating how each one is applicable to today’s society, with the topical bonus of using the video chat format to make it feel more real and relatable in this hi-tech multi-media world. Being a black comedy, there is some adult humour and coarse language so be careful who you watch it in front of.

The first episode Gluttony can be seen below and if you enjoy it, subscribe to the YouTube channel and check out the next three episodes Envy, Sloth, and Pride and be sure to be on the lookout for the remainder of the series over the coming weeks.
